Learning about Help the window

Web Help features the familiar look and feel of a Web page, with similar navigational features. The Help incorporates a complete table of contents, comprehensive index, glossary terms, and full text search. WebHelp can be accessed at any time by pressing F1, by clicking a Help button, or by selecting Help | Contents and Index on the menu bar.

Toolbar

The toolbar is displayed across the top of the window, below the title bar. The toolbar provides quick access to commands.

Displays the table of contents in the navigation pane.

Index

Displays the index in the navigation pane.

Search

Displays a full text search in the navigation pane. You can also search by typing in the search field on the Help toolbar.

Glossary

Displays the glossary in the navigation pane.

Navigation pane

The navigation pane appears on the left side of the window. It contains a complete table of contents, comprehensive index, glossary terms, and full text search. The information displayed in the navigation pane is controlled by the Help toolbar. You can close the navigation pane by clicking the close ( Close Button ) button. You can open the navigation pane by clicking the appropriate item on the Help toolbar. For more information on how to use the features of the navigation pane, refer to the Using the Help topic.

Topic pane

The topic pane appears on the right side of the window. It displays the selected help topic or default help topic. If necessary, scroll bars are provided for further viewing. By right-clicking in the topic pane, you can access shortcuts to menu items such as Printing, Back, and Forward.

The following table describes some items you might encounter while navigating through the Help.

Arrows provide a link to the beginning of a topic.

expandable hotspot

Hotspots expand when clicked to display more detailed information or a glossary term.

Indicates notes and additional information.

Indicates access rights information, advanced instructions, important information, warnings, and troubleshooting notes.

Indicates examples and tips.

When clicked, cameras display an example of screen images.
