Barr Host Communications Suite consists of many modules and associated components, including port monitors Programs that monitor Windows printer ports. Used when files are directed from the Windows Spooler to a destination device., services, programs, and Help files.
During installation, all modules are installed, but four of the services are optionally configured. See the installation section for more information. The license installed by the License Manager controls which options are available.
The Adept Suite, used by TOOLS and TRANSFORM, is installed separately.
BARR/TRANSFORM processes and transforms AFP, PCL, and Xerox Line Data (DJDE) and Metacode files. Depending on your requirements and configuration, BARR/TRANSFORM converts each of these files from their original format into ASCII text, PCL, PostScript, PDF, TIFF or XML for printing, archiving, or viewing.
BARR/TOOLS allows you to view and reprint your PCL and Xerox Line Data (DJDE) and Metacode files. In addition, it provides accurate page count data so you can use the Barr Enterprise Print Server Accounting features.
