Barr EOM
Several Windows utilities are used to configure and manage Barr EOM. The method of displaying the utility may vary depending on your operating system.
You need to define Windows printers to use with Barr EOM. Windows printers are defined with the Windows Add Printer Wizard.
From the taskbar, click Start | Printers & Faxes. Under Printer Tasks, click Add a printer, or right-click in the window and select Add Printer.
The Event Viewer maintains logs about programs, security, and systems events on your computer. With Event Viewer, you can troubleshoot various hardware and software problems.
From the taskbar, click Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Event Viewer.
For SNA Server – From the taskbar, click Start | Programs | Microsoft SNA Server | Manager.
For the Host Integration Server – From the taskbar, click Start | Programs | Host Integration Server | Manager.
The Network utility configures network hardware and software.
From the taskbar, click Start | Control Panel | Network Connections.
The devices utility starts and stops device drivers.
From the taskbar, click Start | Control Panel | System. They System Properties dialog box displays. On the Hardware tab click Device Manager. If you need additional instructions, refer to your Microsoft Help.
You need to define Windows printers to use with Barr EOM. The printers consist of a port and a device driver, which can be configured from the Printers folder.
From the taskbar, click Start | Printers and Faxes.
Barr Enterprise Print Server implements several services that run under Microsoft Windows. Starting and stopping these services is an essential part of operating the Barr Enterprise Print Server. Use one of the following methods to open the Services utility.
From the taskbar, click Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Component Services. In the Console Root tree click Services.
You can use the user utility to assign individual users to a group account. The user utility is a Windows program that is used to create and manage user accounts, create and manage groups, and manage security policies.
From the taskbar, click Start | Control Panel | User Accounts.
From the User Accounts dialog box, click Advanced on the Advanced tab to access Local Users and Groups.
Windows Explorer displays the hierarchical structure of files, folders, and drives on your computer. You can use Windows Explorer for tasks such as copying, moving, and deleting files.
From the taskbar, click Start | All Programs | Accessories | Windows Explorer.
Windows Notepad creates and edits text files using basic text formatting. You can use Windows Notepad to edit files.
From the taskbar, click Start | All Programs | Accessories | Notepad.
The Add or Remove Programs utility adds and removes software on your computer.
From the taskbar, select Start | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs.
