Configuring the host

To configure BARR/PRINT CHANNEL, you must configure the host for your device.

The CHPID and CNTLUNIT parameters on the host definition vary depending if you are using an ESCON or Bus & Tag connection. The IODEVICE parameter varies depending if you are emulating a 3211 or 4245 IBM line printer. Typically 3211 will be specified, however if the mainframe is configured for 4245, you should set the value to 4245.
