Managing product components

Administration

From the Manage Product Components Utility you can view the current status of each Barr component. You can also authorize servers and configure services to be monitored from the EOM Console.

Viewing product components

Complete the following steps to view the current product components.

  1. From the EOM Console navigation pane, select the Administration application.

  2. Click the Manage Product Components link. The Manage Product Components Utility displays in the console window.

  3. Review all of the installed Barr EOM components and their status, component type, and server.

Monitoring services from the EOM Console

Complete these steps to configure Barr EOM services to display in the service status lights in the EOM Console.

  1. From the EOM Console navigation pane, select the Administration application.

  2. Click the Manage Product Components link. The Manage Product Components Utility displays in the console window.

  3. To enable/disable monitoring, select and clear the appropriate check boxes in the Monitored column. Monitoring is only available for service components.

  4. Click Apply. The service status lights display to the right of the menu bar. Move the pointer over the lights to identify the service and status.

Authorizing servers

Complete the following steps to authorize servers.

  1. From the EOM Console navigation pane, select the Administration application.

  2. Click the Manage Product Components link. The Manage Product Components Utility displays in the console window.

  3. If a server is not authorized all components for that server will appear in red text. To authorize the server, select a check box in the Authorized column. This will authorize the server and automatically select the check boxes for all other components using that server.

  4. Click Apply.
