Printers

Adding a Windows printer to use with BARR/SPOOL is similar to adding a printer for use with any other Windows program. Local printer definitions, for devices connected directly to your computer, include a port and device driver. Network printer definitions connect you to printers defined elsewhere on the network. To add a Windows printer, you must be a member of the Administrators group. If you are using Windows 2000, you can also be a member of the Printer Operators or Server Operators group or a Power User on a workstation.

To receive jobs into BARR/SPOOL:

• Define a Windows printer

• To receive line or channel printer jobs

• To receive printer-specific jobs

• To receive NJE or RJE jobs

• Add files with Print Utility

• Add files with LPD

• Add files with TCP/IP sockets

• Receive documents from BARR/PRINT CHANNEL

To send jobs from BARR/SPOOL:

• Print to a channel printer

• Print to a line printer

• Print to a Novell print queue

• Print to a NUL printer

• Print to a TCP/IP print queue

• Print to a TCP/IP printer

• Print to a Windows printer

• Print to a Xerox EPS

• Route to another BARR/SPOOL

• Send jobs to the host

• Write to a TCP/IP socket

• Write to disk
