Use the Tracing tab to run the Barr trace facility.
When you stop the trace, the Barr trace facility compresses the data you gathered into one file for analysis.
Trace file
Displays where the Barr trace facility stored the trace information.
Last update
Displays the date and time you created the file and the file size.
After you run the trace, you can automatically or manually send the trace file to Barr Systems.
Automatically
If you have Internet e-mail access, click to automatically send the compressed trace file in an e-mail to Barr Systems.
Manually
Click to view instructions on manually sending the trace file to Barr Systems. Use one of the following methods to send this trace file to Barr Technical Support.
Internet E-mail – Attach the files to an Internet e-mail message.
FTP server – Upload the files to the Barr FTP server.
Software disk – Copy the files to a software disk and send it to Barr Systems.
Allows you to Start and Stop the trace.
When Stop is selected, you will be prompted for the name and directory of the compressed trace file. The trace system will then prompt you for a comment to be included in the trace file. It is recommended that you describe your problem here and provide contact information.
When complete, the name of the compressed file will appear in the Trace file field.
