Barr EOM

Before you begin working with Barr EOM, follow the steps in this procedure to configure and set up Barr EOM.

After the software is installed, an administrator will need to configure the EOM security roles, set up the EOM Console security, detect printers, and configure SNMP monitoring. Users can then define sources for receiving documents, destinations for sending documents, and route the documents as desired.

Follow these steps to get started with Barr EOM.

1. Perform initial administrative setup

• Manage EOM security roles

• Configure EOM Console security

• Detect printers

• Configure SNMP monitoring

2. Define a source to receive documents into Barr EOM

• Receive documents from an email address

• Receive documents from another Barr EOM

• Receive documents from an FTP connection

• Receive documents from an LPD connection

• Receive documents from a network folder

• Receive documents from a socket connection

• Receive messages from WebSphere MQ

• Receive documents from a Windows queue

3. Define a destination to send documents from Barr EOM

• Send documents to an email address

• Route documents to another Barr EOM

• Send documents to an FTP server

• Send documents to an IPDS printer

• Send documents to an IPP destination

• Send documents to an LPR server

• Send documents to a network folder

• Send documents to a socket

• Send documents to a WebSphere MQ

• Send documents to a Windows queue

4. Route documents to a destination

• Manually route documents from the EOM Console

• Automatically route documents using business rules
